€2 commemorative coin, dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of Pope John Paul II.

John Paul II or Karol Józef Wojtyła (1920-2005), was Pope and Head of the Catholic Church from October 16, 1978 until the date of his death. He had the third longest documented pontificate in history, lasting 26 years, 5 months and 17 days. He was the only Polish Pope until his death, and the first non-Italian Pope since the Dutch Adrian VI, in 1522.
